see through the eyes of your stakeholders
WITH THIS UNIQUE APPROACH:
MICRO-EXPERIENCES ARE CAPTURED FROM PARTICIPANTS
VISUALIZED META-DATA IS RAPIDLY AVAILABLE TO DECISION MAKERS
QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE DATA ARE LINKED, PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR INSIGHTS UNDERLYING TRADITIONAL MEASURES
DIRECT LINKS TO RAW EXPERIENCES PROVIDE DECISION MAKERS WITH CONTEXT AND UNDERSTANDING
With a SenseMaker® approach to stakeholder research, qualitative and quantitative data are captured simultaneously and linked in a uniquely visualized way. Respondents share micro-stories in response to a customized prompt, and then answer a short series of signification questions about their experience. This meta data shows us the nuanced landscape of human perception and experience. With this approach everyone has a voice and is heard. There are no added layers of meaning or interpretation by an outside researcher – the meaning of the story belongs to the teller. It provides a baseline of narrative data to monitor change over time, and supports the workshop-based engagement methods.
What a project includes:
- Custom project design
- The capture of stakeholder experiences with our research instrument
- A live data set you can query at any time
- Rapid analysis of meta-data for clusters and outliers
- A written report and a virtual presentation of results
- Expert consulting on how to tweak or radically redesign your project or organization
Applications of a SenseMaker Approach to research and monitoring
Impact monitoring and measurement
Monitor how a system changes over time and measure the direction of change.
Monitoring of weak signals, shifts, surprises
On-going data capture gives real-time updates and monitors changes and slight shifts. Signified stories often capture issues typically considered too minor to report on.
Employee or Client experience & satisfaction
An average satisfaction rating doesn’t convey enough context or nuance to always identify small areas for improvement. Understand why someone is satisfied or not, and under what conditions.
Only when we understand what is, do we have the chance to shift to what could be

Change Management
Understand how teams think about change and what needs attention for organizational change to succeed.
Event-based research and review
Insights into what underlies participant satisfaction, motivation and perceived value, or what staff can tell you about implementation for an After-Action Review.
Organizational Change and Team Dynamics
Identify insights into the landscape of attitudes, motivations, and the extent to which employees feel valued and engaged.
